Exciting updates for international students looking to study in the United States! The US government has now officially resumed processing student visas (F, M, and J categories) — excellent news for those preparing to start classes later this year.
We are encouraging our students to take advantage of this reopening and start lodging their applications early.
What’s Happening:
The US State Department has issued instructions to embassies and consulates worldwide to begin scheduling student visa interviews once again.
The previous four-week pause has now been lifted — and this is the perfect time to start your visa process.
Consular officers will be conducting enhanced screening (including social media checks), but this should not deter genuine students who are ready to comply with US laws and are focused on their education goals.
Why Act Now:
- The peak student visa processing period for the US runs from May to August. About 70% of US student visas are issued during this time. With this reopening, it’s important to secure your appointment early to avoid delays and ensure you can travel on time.
- The new guidelines encourage students to ensure that their online presence (such as social media profiles) reflects their genuine intentions — to pursue their studies, respect the host country’s culture, and contribute positively to the academic community.
- The screening process will NOT automatically disqualify applicants — genuine students have every chance of approval by providing honest, transparent information.
Our advice: If you’re thinking of studying in the US for this year’s intake — now is the time to apply!
